All change - part 1

April was a big month for us, in two very different halves. The first half was spent by the Indian Ocean, enjoying the great things about Kenya and minimising the impact of our house being packed up and all our belongings being in a variety of containers at different ports, warehouses and airports in Kenya. The second half has been back in the UK, reconnecting with friends, remembering about being cold and damp and settling back into our London home. And there were also some important bits before and in between the two halves, spending time with Nairobi friends and saying our goodbyes. Busy.

For our final holiday on our African adventure we returned to the beach. We had long agreed that this was our plan but couldn't quite agree on which beach. So we went to three different ones, with Matthew remaining in his swimming trunks as we flew and drove between them to save time getting back into the pool. Bliss.

We started with a few days in Lamu with Granny with some Dhow trips, snorkeling and jumping into the sea from the pier and lots of time in a pool. Very chilled, much more comfortable than an empty house in Nairobi and a great way to end Granny's trip. Then 24 hours in Watamu, partly because the flights worked that way but also because we love the diving there and Jamie wanted to repeat his Zanzibar experience. And finally a week with friends in a house in Kilifi, where the kids sailed and windsurfed and swam and generally got wet and we read, relaxed, soaked up the sun and recharged our batteries ready for the final chaos of moving continents and picking up the lives we left just over 2 years ago. Together it looked like this......
